Boyd County Public Library District Board of Trustees meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30 pm. The location rotates through the branches for each meeting. Boyd County Public Library is governed by a five member Board of Trustees. Trustees are residents of Boyd County and appointed by Boyd County Judge-Executive with the approval of Boyd County Fiscal Court. Members serve a four year term and may be reappointed to one additional four year term. Trustees serve without compensation.
The Board is governed by the Kentucky Revised Statutes (Libraries Districts Formed by Petition, KRS 173.710-173.800), its own Bylaws, and the policies that it sets. Board members are responsible for the overall governance of the Library.
