Library now has
WIRELESS
Internet access

The library recently installed wireless Internet access at the Main Branch.

Patrons can now bring their own laptops to the library, located at 1740 Central Ave., and will find Internet access available throughout most of the first floor. The best connections are in the reference and public computer areas.

Once the Reading Garden is complete this fall, wireless access will also be available there.

To make use of the library's wireless hotspot, a computer needs to be set to obtain its IP and DNS information automatically. Instruction sheets on how to do that are available at the library.

The library's wireless access point is set to accept wireless a, b or g network cards, which covers the most commonly used standards.

If the wireless hotspot is well received downtown, the capability will be extended to the Catlettsburg and Summit branches.
