Some
monthly programs have changed time
New
storytimes
for kids!
The
library
has new monthly story time programs for children this winter, and
has also changed the times of some of its other programs to better
serve patrons.
Zoom, Zoom:
Things that Go is a new story time for children 4-8. The world of
planes, trains and other forms of transportation will be explored
on the second Saturday of each month, at 10:30 a.m. at the Main
Branch, 1740 Central Ave. In addition to stories, kids will receive
a “zoom zoom” toy. The first program is Jan. 12.
Also on the
second Saturday, at 2 p.m. at Main, is a special program for “tweens”
that group between 8 and 12. Time for Tweens will focus on a different
craft each month. The Jan. 12 program is on origami; and tweens
can learn how to make a collage at the Feb. 9 one.
Moms on Babies
etc. (MOB) is a monthly chance for busy moms to get together and
talk about books they’ve enjoyed, get recommendations from
other moms and just enjoy each other’s company while their
kids play. The program (formerly Moms on Books) started in the fall,
but is switching to a new time: 9:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday
at Main. Refreshments will be served and the current best-selling
adult fiction book will be given away each month.
Also switching
to a new time this month is the weekly evening Toddler Time. It
is now held at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays at Main. Toddler Time programs
are also held every Friday – at 11:30 a.m. at Main and 1 p.m.
at Summit, 1016 Summit Road.
