Teen Derby Party
May 9, 2006

A Derby party and cookout closed out the library’s Teen Tuesdays program in spring 2006.The fun-filled evening was open to any teen who had attended a Teen Tuesdays event at the library this year, and their parent or guardian. The program included games, including “Capture the Racing Stripes” (a Derby version of Capture the Flag) and a three-legged horse race for both teens and parents. Prizes included horse piñatas and other horse-themed items. The program started with a chance for teens to make a Derby hat. Following the games, participants munched on an appetizer sampler of sugar cubes, lemon drops, carrots and apples.

Note: You can view pictures (1) individually by selecting them from the drop-down menu at the left above, (2) page through them manually by pressing the >> or << arrow buttons or (3) view an automated slideshow by pressing the "Start" button. (On the slideshow, pictures appear about 10 seconds apart. And, note, the slideshow works best with a broadband connection; obviously, you're welcome to try the slideshow with dialup, but it may be sluggish in loading the images and, as a result, may get out of correct sequence.)
