Bubble Gum Day

To celebrate Bubble Gum Day, the library gave out bubble gum so willing participants of all ages could blow a bubble for the camera. Some things you might not know about bubble gum (according to the folks at Dubble Bubble):

• The biggest bubble ever was 22 inches in diameter.
• Dubble Bubble was included in ration kitss for American soldiers serving in World War II.
• Only 2 percent of North American fourth graders can blow a double bubble, a bubble inside a bubble.
• A “triple whammy” is a bubble inside a bubble inside a bubble.
• Chewing gum burns about 11 calories per hour.
• Studies have shown that chewing gum actually helps people concentrate.
• To get gum off your clothes, rub ice on it, then scrape it off.
