Library accepting Visa
Debit and credit cards
Copy cards also available at all branches

Starting in January, library patrons can use Visa debit and credit cards to pay fines or make purchases at any branch. The library started this in response to customer requests, said Director Debbie Cosper, and will be doing it on a trial basis this year.

There is no charge, but a minimum $5 payment is required (this is one cent over the maximum amount of fines that can be on a patron’s account and still be allowed to check out). Discover and American Express are not being accepted, at least for now, because of their additional fees.

Also, the new color copiers at all three branches (Main, Catlettsburg and Summit) now accept copy cards. Blank cards cost $1 and are refillable. The cards, which can be used at any branch, are great for people who make a lot of copies but don’t want to carry change, Cosper said.
