Cemetery CD PDF Print E-mail

The Rowan County Cemetery CD has arrived in the Minnie Winder Room at Main. This great genealogy research tool includes GPS coordinates and listings for 326 cemeteries. The CD covers burials up through 2009. Also, the Boyd County Cemetery's database now includes Rose Hill burials through approximately 1977. You can access the database by clicking here. New marriage and death records PDF Print E-mail

The Minnie C. Winder room at Main recently added Lawrence County, Ohio, marriage certificates on microfilm, for 1895 through 1953. Each marriage book is indexed by year with certificates to follow. We've also added a West Virginia death index for 1917 through 1991. This microfilm offer only the index. Death certificates can be downloaded and printed from West Virginia Culture's website (click here).

The Minnie C. Winder Room at Main now has Lewis County newspapers through 1985. We've also updated the collection of papers from Greenup, Carter, Johnson, Lawrence and Elliott counties so that they are current through 1985, too.

There's also a new website we're excited about: Family Search Labs recently added 300 million names to its site. Click here to find deaths, marriages, baptismal records and other records from around the world.

If you have a loved one interred in Ashland Cemetery, but can't remember the exact location, then we can help. We've worked with the cemetery staff to update the online database for burials in Ashland Cemetery from around 1900 to present. And the cemetery is helping us to to put section maps online too. We also have lots of documents, handouts and other materials to help the more seasoned researchers. For example, we have a handout that explains all the U.S. Census questions from 1790 through 1930. We also have Eastern Kentucky newspapers up through 1980. And of course, we have marriage and death certificates, deeds, wills, tax lists, Census records and obituaries. You need it?
