Looking for resources to help your child learn to love books and reading? Make the library your first stop! We have everything from board books for babies to chapter books for tweens and teens.

Does your child’s school participate in the Accelerated Reader program? The Youth Services department maintains AR lists from many area schools – check with a librarian to see if your child’s school provides a list.  Many schools now subscribe to all of the AR tests that the company has, and many of our library books are AR books.  You can find out if a book is included in the Accelerated Reader program using AR Bookfinder, which will also tell you the level and points of the book you are searching for.

Looking for books on a specific topic? Our librarians will be glad to assist you – just stop by the children’s desk and ask! You can also call (606) 329-0518, ext. 1301, and request that books on a topic be held for you at the circulation desk.

If you’re a homeschooling parent, be sure to check out our “Resources for Educators” page!
